Yesterday I was explaining turbulence in the cockpit of an airplane.

I watched the Bachelorette finale last night.

Don’t fret, if you’re in your 40’s and single.

Just be patient, your soulmate is finalizing their second divorce and will be available soon.

“I look forward to hearing back.”

If you want to be an effective business coach…. And get deals done you’ll need to learn how to be forceful in your communication.

Communicate like an alpha rather than a beta.

A super common message to ask someone is, ‘to get back to you…’ problem is it sounds weak and they seldom do.

Here are some alternatives and more direct ways of getting your response.

“I’m working on a large project with a successful client… can you get back to me by Friday so we can close the loop on this, please.”

“If I don’t hear from you by Friday I’ll assume we’re good to move forward and I’ll see on our first coaching call, Tuesday at 3pm.”

“I saw this XYZ article and it made me think of you and our roadmap moving forward. What are your thoughts?”

“Since our chat I’ve got a couple of profitable ideas for you…. What works at your end to catch up?

Of course, you can tweak and adjust each of these…

… But the bottom line is to be STRONG in your communication.

A nonreply is not acceptable… so don’t accept it.

BTW a great ending to a cold email or cold written correspondence is this:

“If you’re too busy to reply… no worries, I totally understand, and thank you for reading this far.”

You heard it here first.

Now, pick up the phone and go help someone.
