Day 243: Unassembled Furniture

Yesterday I was explaining how Bernard Arnault managed to build a net worth of $110 Billion.

He agrees with me that ‘3 for 1 Pizza’ is an idiotic concept.

Speaking of successful idiots…

At birth, success is being alive.

At age 3, success is not pooping your pants.

At age 10, success is having friends.

At age 17 success is having a driver’s license.

At age 20 success is having sex.

At age 30 success is having money.

At age 40 success is having money.

At age 70, success is having a driver’s license.

At age 75, success is having friends.

At age 80, success is not pooping your pants.

At age 100, success is being alive.

And 3 for 1 pizza will make you poop your pants… lose your friends… get no sex… and die poor and hungry.



‘Own a Word’

Luxury brands have luxury prices or they’re not luxury.

There is no relation between success in the marketplace and success in comparative testing.

Pepsi crushed Coke in the taste tests…

But Coke outsold them from start to finish.

One of the ways businesses brand themselves as luxury is by owning a word or phrase in the minds of the consumer.

Google – Search

YouTube – Internet Videos

Whole Foods – Organic Food

Ikea – Unassembled Furniture

Disney – Magical

BMW – Driving

Mercedes – Prestige

Coca Cola – Happiness

US Marine Corps – Semper Fi (Always Loyal)

Volvo – Safety

Federal Express – Overnight Delivery
