Day 582: Public Restrooms
Last week I finished up explaining how my daughter asked me about getting older…
I answered that I now understand why roosters start the day screaming.
Speaking of people screaming…
I’ve played hockey around the world, lived in foreign countries, built multiple multi-million dollar businesses, put together and sold my own $500,000 coaching programs, and convinced people to buy many millions of dollars of my stuff…
But I still haven’t found the right words to use when someone knocks on the door of the public restroom I’m in.
In other news…
There was a stage in my life when I hit a fork in the road… I had to choose between being unbearable and problematic.
I chose problematic :o)

‘Your Primary Emotion’
You have a primary emotion that drives a LOT of your mood/behavior.
More than you probably care to realize.
For some people, it’s gratitude, joy, happiness, love, pride, hope etc…
For others, it’s anger, fear, guilt, frustration, emptiness, anxiety etc…
Here’s an analogy that will provide some value to you and your high end coaching clients.
You’re holding a cup of hot tea without the lid…
… someone comes by and accidentally bumps into you.
You spill hot tea all over your hand, arm, shirt and shoes.
Because someone just ran into you!
The reason tea spilled is because there was hot tea in your cup.
If there had been Coke, you would have spilled Coke.
If there had been coffee, you would have spilled coffee.
Moral of story…
When a situation “bumps into you”…
… what comes out?
Gratitude, joy, happiness, love, pride, hope, curiosity etc…
Anger, fear, guilt, frustration, emptiness, anxiety, helplessness etc…
Your life is your cup and your tea is your primary emotion.
What spills out when you get bumped?
Maybe you can choose to refill it with positive emotions rather than the negative ones that’ve dominated you in the past.
It’s as simple as a decision.
Help your clients do the same.
You heard it here first.
A consultant in your network might need to read this today…
… forward it to them.
Now, pick up the phone and go help someone.
