Day 465: Distracted VS Disinterested

Yesterday I was explaining how everyone is obsessed with ‘meaning’.

Speaking of meaning…

Here is one for you to ponder:

Why is naked pronounced naked… and baked is not pronounced baked?

While on the topic of high school.

Here’s a conversation between my French teacher and I:

French Teacher: KB, Give me a sentence using the words defense, defeat, and detail.

Me: When the horse jumps over the defense, defeat goes before the detail.

In other news…

The problem I see is that people no longer cherish good people… they use them.



‘Distracted versus Disinterested’

To follow up the message I sent on ‘MEANING’… this one will be insanely helpful.

In your marriage.

With your kids.

With clients.

With prospective clients.

Pretty much with any relationship.

Assume they are ‘distracted’ rather than ‘disinterested’ or ignoring you.

I can’t begin to tell you how expensive getting this one wrong has been for me.

Either replying with a ‘how dare you reply…’

Or worse…

Ignoring them and moving on.

That is all.

You heard it here first.

Now, pick up the phone and go help someone.
