Day 549: Expensive Popsicles

Yesterday I was explaining the importance of OFFER over message… “Marketing done properly inspires action.”

Speaking of getting some action…

I’ve been spending a lot of time with my new 82 year Covid patient friend, yes that’s a thing, and I’m pretty sure she’s the most positive person I’ve ever met.

When they released her from the hospital yesterday, she was so excited when leaving, she fell down a flight of stairs.

She quickly jumped up and said:

“Whoa, did I ever get down those stairs fast!”

In other news…

Things are getting real:

Milli Vanilli announced they are pulling someone else’s music from Spotify.

Anyhoo…

Your One PROFIT ACCELERATION THING Is:

‘Location’

You’ve no doubt heard the real estate expression ‘location, location, location’….

Here’s a different way of looking at this for your coaching business as well as for

your high end coaching clients

I used to run hockey camps, goal scoring schools, and hockey tournaments for a

living.

A popsicle sold for 50 cents at the local 7-11…

I bought them in bulk for 10 cents and sold them for $2.50 at my hockey tournaments.

If you’re new to business you see a $2.40 profit per unit…. If you’re experienced

you’re looking at my gross profit margin.

And you’re impressed.

I vividly remember a lady that was helping me coordinate the tournament say to me,

“You can’t sell popsicles for $2.50.”

I said:

“Watch me.”

The only issue I had was that I ran out before noon.

The reason I could control the price… can be summed up in one word.

LOCATION.

Another example is a bottle of Coke.

The price varies wildly depending on where you are…

$1 wholesale

$2.50 at the convenience store.

$4.00 at the local bar

$6.00 at the high end bar

$8.00 at the rave party (are they still a thing?!)

$10 if you put an ounce of rum in it.

The product is the exact same but the different PLACE provides a totally different

level of value.

The ultimate resource is, emotion…

… higher level of emotion at a hockey game or a rock concert than at iHop.

They can therefore sell their Cokes for significantly more.

Therefore, your LOCATION matters.

Before you bail out on your business coaching OFFER from yesterdays muse…

… consider that your offer might be fine.

You might just be standing in the wrong LOCATION with it.

Yacht Club versus the Local Networking Group.

High End Venue versus Humpty Dumptys.

Twitter vs Facebook

YT vs TikTok

Texas versus Wyoming.

*not that there is anything wrong with Wyoming*

The exact same house that’s $500,000 in one place can be $5,000,000 near the

beach.

Your high end coaching clients will have the exact same dynamic… consider

adjusting their LOCATION.

You heard it here first.

Now, pick up the phone and go help someone.
