Day 314: The Wrong Question

Yesterday I was talking about New Years Resolutions and encouraging you to create some around areas of your life that compound.

Not to mention ‘losing ten pounds’ is getting kinda lame.

In other news…

My 7-year-old daughter, Saje, wanted to sleep with us last night.

Saje: Dad can I sleep with you tonight, I’m scared.

Me: No, I can’t risk the monster following you in here and killing me.

*Wifey, slaps me*

Your ONE COACHING THING Today Is:

‘The Wrong Question’

The foundation of my top-rated Podcast, Business Coaching Secrets (50,000 downloads… all organic) is answering questions that business coaches send in.

I find I get asked the WRONG question with consistency.

Here’s What I Mean

“KB, do live events work for getting high-end coaching clients, or are they dead?”

“I created this video selling my services… is it any good?”

“Where is the best place to advertise?”

“Where is the best place to find high end coaching clients?”

It’s like asking a carpenter if you should use a circular saw or a hand saw.

Buying a circular saw doesn’t make you a carpenter any more than getting ‘certified’ doesn’t make you a Business Coach.

And joining Clubhouse doesn’t make you a marketer either.

Here’s What Matters

Understanding the PROBLEM your prospective client has.

And being able…. and being CONFIDENT you’re able to solve it.

When a thirsty man is walking across the desert all you need to say is WATER.

If you get this messaging right.

You can create a sign.

You can create videos.

You can run old school teleseminars.

You can reach out to friends.

You can cold call.

You can run online ads.

You can do referral marketing.

You can use Youtube.

You can post on social media.

You can use new sexy tools like Clubhouse.

You can hire someone to generate leads for you.

You can send a damn smoke signal if you want…

… and if your audience is not thirsty then the job of your marketing is to make them so.
