Last week I explained how you decide with your emotions and then back it up with logic.
Also the critical importance of your vantage point.
What you’re looking for matters.
A bit like every time I look for dog poop on my lawn I somehow manage to step in it.
My cat “Boo Boo” also agrees on the importance of your vantage point.
I’m not much of a cat guy so I managed to turn my cat into a dog….
She goes for walks with us and wants a treat every morning with the dogs after our window barking routine.
Embarrassingly, she’s about 3.5 pounds but significantly tougher than the two dogs.
She asked me:
“Being locked up in your house by your own government can’t be fun… how are you really feeling?”
I said: “Boo Boo…. The truth is I walk around like everything is fine but deep down, inside my shoe, my left sock is sliding off.”

In every business transaction, someone is taking the financial and emotional risk.
Good operators realize the importance of having you “feel certain” and therefore turn the risk on themselves… in some cases, even better than a money-back guarantee.
Here are some examples to get your hamster running on the wheel:
1. Puppy Dog Close… Try it for free for 30 days and then start paying.
2. Money-back guarantee
3. Double your money-back guarantee
4. You’ll work with them for no charge until they’re satisfied
5. If I don’t sell it in 90 days, I’ll buy it (you see it in real estate)
6. Offer a bonus they can keep even if they exercise the money-back guarantee.
7. Offer to donate the amount to their favorite charity if not satisfied
8. Offer to buy them the competitor’s product if they’re not satisfied with yours
9. When I did speaking events I’d have a live mic in the room and my guarantee was “I guarantee to solve any marketing problem on the spot!”
Bottom line: Get creative.
Your risk reversal strategy is designed to make your prospect feel “certain”.
I closed almost 100% of the people I sat with for high-end coaching and the simple reason is my attitude was:
DO WHATEVER IT TAKES to get the coaching client.
And my coaching deals were $100,000, $250,000 and $500,000 + when the contingency figures were factored.
And yes I got the money.
And yes the other party was as happy as I was.
One of my closing/risk reversal techniques was to carry a blank cheque in my pocket….
If they were humming and hawing… I’d pull the cheque out of my pocket and dated it 12 months from that day for the same amount as the coaching fees.
Handed it to them and said… “If this doesn’t work cash that cheque in 12 months…
