Automate Your Business to Grow By Torie Mathis

There comes a time in every entrepreneurial journey where you realize you just cannot do it all yourself.

When you’re first getting started you really are the “chief, everything officer.” But as your coaching business begins to grow, it becomes painfully apparent that doing everything yourself is only going to lead to:

  • Frustration (when essential tasks don’t get done, and deadlines get missed).
  • Burn out (when you work yet another 12+ hour day).
  • Or overwhelm (when your to-do list gets longer at the end of the day than it was at the beginning of your day).

There are many ways to fix this business-growth hurdle, and one of the best is automation. Technology is awesome so use it! Imagine a completely hands-off system that works for you even when you’re hiking on a remote mountain or lounging at a luxury spa.

So what can you automate to grow your business?

Almost everything, but here are some excellent places to start:

AUTOMATE YOUR EMAIL FUNNEL

What happens when a new person joins your mailing list or when someone buys one of your products? Do they just sit waiting on your list until you actually have time to send an email in real-time?

While broadcast emails have their place—especially with time-sensitive promotions—be sure to also set up an autoresponder email series to:

1. Welcome your new subscribers and help them find their way around your website and business (and your offers)

2. Nurture, so they know they are in the right place

3. Make additional suggestions based on what someone has purchased or shown an interest in (yes this can be done!)

And the best thing? Once your autoresponder is all setup, it will continue to work even when you’re not working.

AUTOMATE YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA

Yes, it’s important to be personable and engaging on your social media. But it that doesn’t mean you have to log in to Facebook just to post a link to your latest blog post or newest YouTube video. Automate those kinds of updates and save yourself hours of time each month. Not only will you save time but you won’t have to worry about missing any updates, either!

AUTOMATE YOUR CALENDAR AND SCHEDULE

If you have clients, a team or are often asked for appointments, then an automated calendar is a must for your business. Rather than an endless stream of back-and-forth emails trying to find a mutually available time slot, just send your calendar link and let your customers, project manager, JV partner or anyone choose a time that works best for them.

AUTOMATE TRAFFIC WITH PAID ADS

Chasing organic traffic, though important, can be frustrating. You’ll need to spend time creating content for your blog, YouTube, and social media just to keep traffic coming in. All that content creation can leave you little time actually to work with the clients, especially during busy times.

Instead, you can invest in quality paid traffic, and get off the endless content creation train. Facebook ads are a great place to start because they are easy to set up, can start with a minimal budget and you get instant feedback. You’ll be glad you did.

For now, though, implementing these four ideas
