Day 1121: Musk. Buffett. Adapt.

Yesterday I was explaining the difference between the hero and the coward as well as what happened when Dave’s girlfriend asked him to start including a few x’s at the end of his text messages.

Speaking of him responding with the names Ginger, Sarah and Zara…

Dave and I took a trip on the train and here’s how it went.

*We sit down on train… guy sits beside us and here’s their conversation:

Dangerous Dave: How you doing?

Man on Train: Great, lots of psychopaths around here.

Dangerous Dave: Really?

Man on Train: Tons of them.

Dangerous Dave: How’d you know?

Man on Train: There’s signs aren’t there?

Dangerous Dave: I guess..?

Man on Train: I love them.

*22 minutes of awkward silence*

Man leaves train, he has a bike.

Me to Dave: He meant cycle paths.

*silence*

In other news…

If you go to France and can’t speak French you’ll likely get taken advantage of… if you do business and can’t speak the language of business you’ll likely get taken advantage of.

Anyhoo…

‘Hiring Criteria’

I’ve said this many times on my podcast.. show me a $10 million dollar company and I’ll show you a business that may or may not realize they’re actually a recruitment company. 

Warren Buffett has hired tens of thousands of people and here’s his criteria for hiring you:

1. Energy / Drive

2. Intelligence

3. Integrity

For obvious reasons that’s a good frame… apparently it worked OK for him.

Here’s a different criteria that might be more in line with what you and your high end coaching clients are doing during these times of crazy change and AI coming FAST.

Let’s call it a more ‘Elon Musk’ like list:

1. Ability and desire to learn

2. Ability to get focused

3. Adaptability

4. Humility

5. Integrity

You heard it here first.

Now, pick up the phone and go help someone.
