Last week we covered a lot of ground including how the strongest opinions about Joe Rogan come from people that have never listened to Joe Rogan and how they kicked me out of the secret cooking society for spilling the beans.

Speaking of cooking for my family…

– I’ve never once preheated an oven and nothing bad has ever happened.

– When I cook, we pray after we eat.

I bought a couple books over the weekend and pounded through a good portion of them.

Reality is…

Books need to be about 250 pages to justify their existence (book deals, price, perceived value, shelf optics etc…) and therefore have tons of fluff.

An 8 page book summary and an interview with the author can give you 80% of the value with less than 20% of the time / content consumed.

If the summary and interview leave you super intrigued to fill in some blanks… read the book.

I enjoy consuming David Goggins’ content and he’s an absolute specimen… I’m going to give you a summary of his book in five sentences:

1. David Goggins was at war with David Goggins for over 30 years.

2. In his early 40’s he woke up and decided that’s not the only way for him to win.

3. On many days it’s a struggle but he does it because it keeps him mentally tough.

4. He thinks you should too, and if you do, you’ll disproportionately win thanks to the mental toughness you build up.

5. His Dad abandoned him and that was the root of all his mental issues.
