Day 528: Triviality

 

Yesterday I was explaining how I get treated like a rock star at Wal-Mart and the secret to getting high-end clients… it rhymes with “you don’t get them… they get you”

Speaking of shopping at Target…

And then I said: “No, I don’t need a cart…”

…and the other shoppers gathered around and crowned me as their King.

In other news…

Your environment is stronger than your willpower… act accordingly.

‘Law of Triviality’

If you haven’t worked it out over the past month… I’ve been going deep with myself

over the holidays on automatic judgments business owner have.

I read books etc… and then write about them to you as a way to teach myself, implement as often as possible and pass those learnings on to you.

Good, bad, indifferent… that’s my process.

So, if you want to know why so many businesses fail and why governments seem to

waste an INSANE amount of time and money…

… The Law of Triviality is a huge reason why.

It’s common to give a disproportionate amount of importance on ‘trivial’ issues…

normally at the expense of things that are more complex.

The government will avoid the task of bottleneck traffic issues that stop the city of

growing and keep the streets logjammed in rush hour… but instead spent an

inordinate amount of time on planting flowers in the local park or building a bike

path.

The local school spends time on the school yearbook rather than updating the

outdated curriculum.

*Spend time on SOLVING PROBLEMS… the yearbook and bike path are not a

problem and the curriculum and traffic issues are*

Here is where I see this of critical importance to you and your high-end coaching

clients…

The business coaches and business owners will spend an inordinate amount of time

solving a specific client’s issue… rather than REAL AND IMPORTANT issues.

Little rocks versus the BIG ROCKS.

*Spend time SOLVING PROBLEMS and many other problems instantly disappear*

It’s hard… but worth it.

Which means they won’t do it cause they’d rather spend their time and attention on

trivial things.

You heard it here first.

Now, pick up the phone and go help someone.
