Day 520: Some Bad Advice…


Yesterday I gave you 9 steps to dialing in on a process with your high-end coaching clients’ businesses to get them right.

Speaking of missteps from my past…

Here’s how an international hockey tournament wearing a Team Canada jersey started for me:

Teammate: Our red eye flight isn’t until midnight so we can go out drinking and then go straight to the airport.

Me: That sounds like an amazing idea.

Narrator: *morgan freeman voice* It was not an amazing idea.

There are people massively inspired by you and they pretend that they don’t see you.



‘Trial and Error’

On my podcast, Business Coaching Secrets, I got asked how to ensure success.

*Lil ‘ole me is about to pass 5 million min downloaded on my podcast… that’s what

you call a humblebrag cough, cough!*

Part of my answer was AVOIDING the incredibly ineffective and expensive, ‘trial and error’ mentality and the advice you get from people without legit 8 figure experience.

I surprised a lot of people with that response of avoiding ‘trial and error’.

They thought it was a good idea.


If trial and error is the problem…

… then what’s the solution, I hear you ask.

The least expensive and most predictable road is the significantly HARDER one that

requires patience, focus, and a long-term view…



Data (as in, Scoreboard / Analytics / Optics)

These three words are the difference between an entrepreneur and an investors


Entrepreneurs want to MAKE IT…

… Investors want to KEEP IT.

Bottom line… trial and error, although popular, is a rookie business mistake that will

cost your high end coaching client dearly.
