Yesterday I was explaining how hatred is a secret sauce of many of the most successful people you know, plus I told you what I got my wife for her birthday…

Here’s what yesterday’s text exchange between my mother-in-law and I looked like:

It’s not lonely at the top… it’s just not very crowded.

You can help your client win 1st Place of being the best landscaper in the city.


You can help your client win 1st Place of earning $1,000,000.00 per year of net earnings (bottom line profits) with their landscaping business.

The first one takes artistry and practical know how.

The second one takes business know how, an understanding of business fundamentals (financial statements over sales funnels *cough cough*) and risk assessment.

Artistic and practical expertise are poorly rewarded with insane consistency….

Believing ‘passion’ and ‘hard work’ will trump legit business acumen is a silly fairy-tale told to you by amateurs and the Influencers on your FB feed.

You will know these guys by their fancy pics and ‘look at me’ posts.

On my ‘featured photos’ on FB (yes, that’s actually a thing) you’ll find me with my shirt off and a guy wearing a baby costume trying to suck beer out of my boob.

Come to think if it…

A fancy pic talking on the phone beside a car I don’t own might make more sense than the boob-sucking shot!?!

I digress.

The most successful brands in the world have ONE THING in common…

‘Gross Profit Margin’

Most business coaches don’t even know what that means let alone help their high-end clients in this area.


Does your client have a $10,000+ product with a minimum of 50% margin? If they have that do they have a $25,000 product with a minimum 50% margin?

If your coaching client’s business could talk… what would it say to your business coaching client?

What, specifically, has the owner been ignoring, and what, specifically, needs to be completed?

Does your client have financial statements (please don’t mistake tax returns for financial statements… its embarrassing)?

If so, are they reviewed (specifically, itemized expenses) quarterly?

If not, how will they make that (financial statements) happen?
