One Thing: Day 376: Devil. Beers. Arguments.

Day 376: Devil. Beers. Arguments.

Yesterday I received hundreds of reply messages… most good and some bad.

Here’s my three favorites:

“Karl, I don’t know how you do it but I love you even more now.

You turned a mistake into a message that taught me more about branding in 200 words than the entire books I’ve read on the subject.

Please keep going and rising above.

I find you incredibly entertaining and so do many others.”

“In the real world you would have been canceled. That’s why I like Karl World: Everybody Lives Forever.”

“Nice recovery. You’re still an idiot.”

In other news…

Someone used my driveway to turn around last night and left me standing outside with two open beers and a lonely face.

In double extra news…

Yes, I really do call Lil Wayne, Wayne.

Anyhoo…

Your ONE COACHING THING Today Is:

‘Arguments Worth Pursuing’

Today’s message doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with the last couple of days so please cool down before you, unnecessarily, heat up.

Unless that’s your thing…

The reality is we’re living in some CRAZY times and the most emotional, non-practical thinkers, tend to be the loudest.

Countless so-called “Influencers” with tons of followers have proven themselves to be PURE CLOWNS with emotion leading their charge.

I encourage you to use a Mental Model versus your EMOTIONS to lead you towards better decisions.

Here are four rules I try to live by:

  1. Everyone makes mistakes and they’re seldom malicious.
  2. It’s impossible to win an argument with an idiot.
  3. When you wrestle a pig in mud you’ll eventually realize they’re actually enjoying it.
  4. Don’t waste your time and energy on people that don’t deserve it.

Four solutions to the above:

  1. Use mental models and THINK before you act.
  2. Once you establish they’re an idiot, don’t bother, and just move along (yes, you’ll be wrong once in a while but you’ll save yourself years of ridiculousness).
  3. Don’t waste extended periods of time and the easiest exit is to agree with the idiot in question. Sometimes that’s not possible but just find a way to EXIT.
  4. Establish values you want in your friends / associates (ability to think critically and not live in a right / wrong hyper-critical world?) and associate with people that have them.

The world would be a more enjoyable place if people stopped looking for things to be perturbed about and started looking for clever ways to help people accomplish their goals.

The goals they probably don’t have cause they haven’t taken the time to SLOW DOWN and establish them.

The Devil: *Whispers in my ear* ‘You’re not strong enough to withstand the storm.’

Me: *Whispers back* ‘At least I didn’t lose my golden fiddle to some hillbilly in Georgia.’

You heard it here first.
