Day 35: Worlds 2nd Most Googled Person
Yesterday I was talking about how consistency beats intensity every day of the week.
I was talking about apples and it reminded me of one of my favorite movie scenes. Matt Damon is a little older than me but we share a birthday… he plays Will Hunting in Good Will Hunting.
Will Hunting: (Bangs on glass) “Do you like apples?”
Pretentious Ponytail Guy: (uncomfortable) “Ya”
Will Hunting: “Well, I got her number…. How do you like them apples?”
Ha ha, Pure Gold.
Ok, so I intentionally don’t put myself out there as the internet guy because quite frankly, I’m not.
But I’m also smart enough to recognize the power of it.
Good and bad.
An example of the good is that my magazine gets over 200 subscribers (not opt-ins but subscribers to my business coaching mag) every day using FB, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Then there’s the bad.
Amongst too many situations to list, and no doubt you’ve seen a few, you might recognize this young lady, Amanda Todd who was a friend of my oldest daughter.
Amanda was the second most Googled person in the world the year she died.
If Miley Cyrus’ “twerking” routine with Robin Thicke didn’t set the internet ablaze Amanda would have been comfortably first.
Amanda did a heartbreaking Youtube video that went viral and I’m guessing you saw or heard about it.
She was a great kid with her entire life to look forward to.
There’s a brutal story behind what happened but, in a nutshell, she met a guy online. He blackmailed her with a few pics and now the jerk off is in jail for 11 years and she’s no longer with us.

Social media is powerful and we recently built a social media program for the successful business coaches that work with us. The program was created for our coaches to use with the small business owners that they successfully coach.
We created 11 videos in a step by step format and the first video is “The Foundation of Social Media Marketing.”

That’s just one of eleven videos the business owner is able to follow and enjoy social media success as a result. Our coaches don’t need to do the “time for money” thing cause the video does the work for them.
Not sure where I’m going with this but think I’m trying convince you that I’m not just handsome… but intelligent too.
My sideways nose and poor grammar aside… lets go with it.
Your ONE THING today is how to rank higher than your competitors in the organic feed.
And if you like FREE advertising and marketing… this is pure gold.
All platforms have a weighted algorithm. I learned a ton about weighted algorithms while building the 2.0 version of my Profit Acceleration Software and basically, the algorithm decides who sees your posts and who doesn’t.
The higher you rank on the algorithm the higher your content will rank on the organic (free) feed of the person you’re connected to.
The more connected you are to someone that higher your ranking on their profile.
When you have a private message with someone… it ranks much higher than a comment or like on their profile.
Therefore, when someone has a birthday, anniversary, baby etc…. comment and say congrats the way you do now on their post.
But ALSO send them a private message ideally ending in a question so they respond improving ranking cause now it’s a conversation.
“Happy birthday Steve I hope you had a great day. Did your better half spoil you?”
That’s why you’ll see you get a private message from me on your birthday.
As mentioned on Monday I’m moving on from Social Media advice. It’s important but there are other topics I need to cover to ensure:
- Clients can pay your high-end coaching fees.
- Clients can keep paying your high-end coaching fees (with a smile).
- You and your clients become wildly wealthy.
