One Thing: Day 307: Avoiding Average

Day 307: Avoiding Average

On Friday I told you how it went when I bought my wife a teeth whitener for Christmas.

Whoops.

Speaking of being hardcore… here’s how I eat instant noodles (Ichiban).

  1. Boil water
  2. Eat Block of Dry Noodles
  3. Drink Boiling Water from Pot
  4. Snort Flavour Powder
  5. Get on With My Day

*Don’t pretend like you’re not impressed*

And when my 22-year-old daughter brought her boyfriend over for our Christmas gathering on the weekend I asked him to stand at the end of the picture so I can crop him out when she dumps him.

Anyhoo….

Your ONE COACHING THING Today Is:

“Avoiding Average”

When watching a kid’s football game, or any other sport, we can all see the kid out there who’s trying to avoid getting hurt.

Painfully obvious.

Great kid, seldom makes a mistake but he sucks at football and that’s not going to change until he starts moving with some purpose out there.

Risks getting himself hurt.

Now picture the kid on the other end of the spectrum… head first, no fear and the other team is scared sh*tless of him.

He’s ‘in their head’.

This kid also makes a whole lot of mistakes.

The same analogy is PAINFULLY obvious online and with your marketing.

Go head first, make plenty of mistakes and improve.

If I was in the stands watching your marketing…

Which kid would I see?

Which kid is your high-end coaching client?

Note:  When Brett Favre beat the record for the most TD passes in the NFL… he also had the record for the most interceptions at the same time.

When I read an email that I wrote 12 months ago in my ONE COACHING THING SERIES…  I cringe.

When I see a marketing piece I created and used from 2005 to get high end coaching clients… I literally laugh.

Go injure yourself and move with some purpose.

You heard it here first.
