Last week I finished off explaining Sub-Branding and the importance of understanding it when mentoring your high-end coaching clients and helping them push through.
Here’s some advice I read over the weekend that’ll help you get your week cranking.

Your ONE COACHING THING Today Is:
‘We Can Do Anything’
As per yesterday’s ‘three questions” you need to stay focused if you’re going to start thinking of Sub Branding opportunities and line extensions.
A huge error for successful companies is thinking they can do anything.
They think and talk in terms of ‘convergence’ when in actuality the opposite is true.
Remember when they tried to combine the “Fax and Phone”?
Or remember the TV / Video player?
A popular thought was that the internet would become “WebTV”… nope.
Xerox tried to enter the computer niche and got destroyed.
Amazon created the ‘Fire Phone’ and I bet a million dollars you don’t own one.
Kodak failed when it tried to go into instant photography.
Facebook launched “Facebook Gifts” and it ended in “Quit Facebook Day” LOL
The list of examples is endless.
Of course, there are anomalies and always will be… but here it is in a sentence to remember:
“Things divide rather than converge in order to survive.”
It’s a Universal Principle.
Guide them as such.
