Day 186: George Floyd / Branding
Last week I was talking about the magic of human capital, how to create your world record week and I got some hate mail for my opinion on the late great Jack Welch who wasn’t nearly as accomplished, according to the DATA, as his reputation might indicate…
But he was still one heck of an operator so please chill out.
I also noticed over the weekend that all my friends on FB went from being infectious disease experts to constitutional lawyers.
We kinda went from “all lives matter” to “no lives matter” in record time.
In all seriousness, my opinion is that George Floyd was murdered and that situation is a horrific one.
My heart goes out to all the families and people involved.

This may or may not be something you’ve thought long and hard about.
Your personal brand is the perception held in someone else’s mind about you. Over time and with more exposure it sharpens and evolves.
Good and bad.
It’s very similar to your IDENTITY (see Day 152 for the importance of ‘identity’)…
Your personal brand will have a monster impact on your success.
And yes, it can dramatically improve with a little focus and effort.

- Your personal standards. *Opinionated, Driven, Reliable, Good Listener
- Your personal abilities. *Coach, Father, Marketer, Writer
- Your key trait *Action Orientated, Unrelenting, Analytical, Creative
- Your relatability *Deliberate, Controlling, Enthusiastic, Professional
Maybe this is more easily expressed this way for you.
Your personal brand is a direction reflection of:
- Who you are
- What you do
- How you do it
- What you believe
Have you ever met someone that’s ‘just lucky’.
And then someone else ‘can’t catch a break’.
Success over the long haul is never an accident and doesn’t happen in isolation… success is a result of:
Operate to create a personal brand that is clear, complete, and of massive value to others.
Help your high-end coaching clients do the same.
A saying of mine comes to mind:
“You can get lucky and make it… but you can’t get lucky and keep it.”
