Day 158: : TV Show Billions, Chuck and Michael Bolton
I hope you had a great Easter.
Last week I explained how our coaches are using my bulletproof Virtual Event Mastery program, we put together in 72 hours, and also how I pour gasoline on referrals.
These are crazy times and if you accept losing… you won’t win.
Your activity on Wednesday and Thursday (Friday was a holiday) last week will tell you exactly what camp you’re in and whether you’re winning or losing.
Your ONE COACHING THING today is a quote straight from Chuck’s Dad… in one of my favorite TV shows, Billions:
If you’ve played Monopoly you know, you need to buy as much property as you can but, the X Factor is to stay in the game.
If you lose all your chips at any stage… it doesn’t matter if you own Boardwalk and Park Place.
Sometimes the game goes too long…. many retire (give up, cough cough) ‘Let me know who won in the morning.”
I’ve been online full time since 2008 and MANY in the “coaching” world have come and gone in that time.
Many, smarter, and far more talented than me.
But here I am!
Here’s a scene straight from the TV show, Billions.
*Chuck is running for Attorney General and is under fire at an event after a crisis*
Dad says to Chuck as they’re watching Michael Bolton sing…
“He’s never stopped, he’s never let his audience down, he’s never quit on ‘em”
“Some are built that way, the rest quit or die”
“That’s the way a legend should be”
“don’t worry about all these motherfu**ers MY BOY just stay standing longer than the other guy, do whatever the fu*k you have to do to outlast ‘em”
I’m still standing because shiny light syndrome is not an issue and I dogmatically stick to my long-term plan.
One that my team and I have total faith in.
During these insane times, there are hordes of coaches searching for data on ‘when we’ll be able to go back to work.’
Watching what others are doing.
Searching their social media feeds.
Getting into political hoo-haw haws which is an amazing use of time. I’ve found the other person always changes their mind after you explain why they’re wrong :o)
Thinking of changing careers and giving up.
And the list goes on.
Don’t worry about the others and just commit to, outlast ’em.
If you’re working towards a ten-year plan… then a bad case of the flu isn’t going to disrupt you in any way, shape or form.
Stop worrying about what might happen.
